Vorgra

A wooden bat wound in barbed wire, nails driven through the business end. Bled its owner before the party ever swung it.

Description

A wooden bat, crude and brutal — barbed wire wound tight around the striking end, nails driven through the wood so they bite on impact. It was already bleeding its owner onto the floor before the fight that took it from him even started.

How It Was Obtained

The party broke into an Uzzikh warehouse in the Eastern Shallows to find Veylith Lorarion mid-interrogation — Loki's Hand's elven contact, held two days over the whereabouts of a missing woman named Rashan, alongside elven bodies flayed and roped to tables and crates. In the office holding her was Bloodsnout, an ork in red and purple command leathers, tusks jutting from his jaw, Vorgra already wound in barbed wire and bleeding onto the floor at his feet.

There was a version of the encounter where words might have worked. This wasn't that version. The fight broke fast and ugly — three of Bloodsnout's warriors went down breathing, five didn't, Bloodsnout among them. The party took Vorgra off his corpse and cut Veylith loose.

Powers / Effects

Nothing supernatural confirmed yet — no divine mark, no whispered name, no rune. What's known is what it did in Bloodsnout's hands: barbed wire and driven nails make it as much a torture instrument as a weapon, and it was already drawing blood from its own owner before it ever swung at anyone else.
