1.7.2 - Her Speaker

You killed the Speaker and read his plans off his corpse, and learned exactly how little time was left.

You stood with Harald and Orgrim, Grukk One-Tusk and Yennen against the Speaker and his horde, and at the end of it the Speaker lay dead. On his body was a book bound in claw and strange symbols, and what you could piece from it told the whole shape of the thing in five fragments. A timeline: five nights until convergence, midnight, an alignment with Hannah's original ascension, no delay possible. Requirements: a vessel of Heimdall's line secured, blood still harvested nightly, temples of blood recovered, alphas reconstituted. A ritual site: a deep chamber below Upper Hammerfall, a black stone altar among root-veins, sealed by the Pilgrimage of the Eight. Instructions: keep the surface afraid, capture the weak rather than kill them, prepare the final offerings on the fifth night. And a last line in another hand. She remembers the first time. The soul is not to interfere. The Forsaken will be reborn.

You barred the great doors and endured to dawn. When you opened them the city was a graveyard, and worse than the dead were the missing, taken below. In daylight the Pact simply dissolved. Norse to Norse, Orks to their kin, elves to the mines, the Guild to its vaults, and the city began to bleed out as people fled the nightly horrors. Balder left with Harald to steward the Norse and keep a boy-jarl's people from scattering. The rest of you turned to the only thing that mattered: the eight runes, the sealed door, and the ritual you now had five nights to stop.
